I'd switched to MPC BE for a while then went back to MPC HC for some problem. Just by chance, I came across a post about MPC BE supporting WASAPI. I browsed through doom9 looking for a clue. I was getting surround sound, but with scratches and break ups.

Then I used ac3filter to encode into ac3. The xbox doesn't seem to accept 5.1 uncompressed. More research got me into using reclock for WASAPI to bypass Windows' 2ch limit. I figured HDMI has the bandwidth for 5.1 uncompressed if only I could decode audio into PCM and somehow get the xbox to accept it. A little more research and fiddling and I got MPC HC to bitstream AC3, but no DTS(-HD) or TrueHD. Except Windows thinks xbox can only do 2ch, even though it lists Dolby as supported format. Then I remembered the Xbox has HDMI in and maybe could act as receiver. I might as well get a receiver, and then, real speakers. I didn't want to spend like $50 for an incomplete solution and have to deal with another box, another power cord, another remote. Then I found it has no ARC support and some other caveats, I forget what. I looked into getting the monoprice HDMI switch with optical out.

That still left the PC with no remaining digital input. Connect cable box via digital coax input, connect xbox via optical input. The TV down mixes HDMI sources to 2ch and the sound bar up mixes to fake 5.1. I wasn't getting real 5.1 audio anyway except from internal sources, e.g. Then I found out, duh, like many TVs mine doesn't pass 5.1 through optical. I went through a bit of trouble trying to work around this with EDID override. Just plugging the PC to TV doesn't do it because Windows only sees a 2ch device with no encoded format. Anyway, the bar has no HDMI, and I want to connect via HDMI (I also have on board realtek audio with optical out, but the optical input is taken, and the sound on my nvidia card is better). It's about as good as you can get for $185 shipped if you only have space for a sound bar and don't want to run wires for rear speakers. So if you've got nothing better to do, sit back and hear my adventure in multi channel PC audio :) I just want to share a story of success and to give a word of thanks. In window situations though, its the same as before and something is wrong because the recent commit is only helping fullscreen and not window situations. To try to help you, I found this info but sadly it doesnt give exact numbers on 300%:īasically your latest commit makes fullscreen on my high DPI UHD display 'better' but its not 'correct to the eye'.

WIthout a user doing anything, everytime I update display driver versions it defaults to 300% and 300% 'looks right' for my setup.

Im sorry I dont know exactly because in Windows 10 in the desktop control panel, all it says is 'Change the size of text, apps and other items: 300% (Recommended)' and it doesnt say how 200% which is a lower setting is different to 300%. Hi, Im not quite sure what your asking (I realise we have language barriers) but I think you want to know how the setting of 200% is different to 300%.
